First Annual Show and Sale by Local Artists Working With Recycled Materials....

BENEFITING Three Notch Theater - Sept 27-28, 2008

Guidelines for participation are as follows:

Seeking artists working with recycled and sustainable materials...whatever your medium... wearable art, jewelry, pottery, wood products, toys, art or decorations for home or garden, toys, etc, etc. All Artwork, 2D, 3D, jewelry, apparel, decorative or functional, must be made from re-cycled or sustainable materials.

• DEFINITIONS:

  Recycled: Artwork made from used goods, found objects, de-constructing and re-constructing, mutation and metamorphosis.

  Sustainable: Materials that will "grow back quickly" such as bamboo vs. oak or materials that are already "dead" such as barn wood or driftwood.

• DATE

  Set up will begin Friday Sept 26th, 5:00PM. You must be out by 9:00 PM but may return at 8:00AM Saturday. Show dates are Saturday and Sunday, Sept 27th and 28th, 11:00AM – 6:00PM. Everything must be removed from the premises by 9:00PM Sunday.

• PARTICIPATION:

  Interested Artists should contact CANDY CUMMINGS immediately to indicate interest and determine eligibility at 301-863-6693 or by email at prodigaldaughter1@verizon.net

  Artists accepted for the show will be asked to submit a "Request for Entry Form." You will also need to supply an inventory list with your name, title of each piece, medium or description, and price for each piece for accounting purposes in addition to "tagging" each piece.

  Artists must specify what sq ft space will be required and what size display case, rack, etc. will be brought in. (This event is being held in a private home and furniture will be moved to accommodate artist’s requests as best as possible.)

  There is NO COST TO THE ARTIST for space this event. However, the show is a fundraiser benefiting the Three Notch Theater/Newtowne Players and we request that you donate 10% of your sale proceeds to the cause. The donation will be tax deductible. This will be the first "outside" fundraiser ever held for the Three Notch Community Theater.

• DEADLINES:

  Deadline for filing Request for Entry form is August 15th, 2008. The above mentioned inventory list must be submitted by September 15th, 2008.
